Villon

Villon is a Spiced French Liqueur brand owned by Sovereign Brands.

Villon is a rich, spiced French liqueur with aromas of vanilla, chai, and toasted oak. Produced in beautiful southern France by a closely-guarded family recipe, Villon has a unique taste that cannot be imitated. Named or the medieval French poet and iconoclast François Villon (born 1431), who penned some of France’s most enduring works before disappearing in the late 15th century. It’s the perfect ingredient for cocktails – both simple and complex.

Villon achieved an exceptional 96-point rating from the Tasting Panel magazine. This score, places Villon among the world's finest brandies, reflects its sublime aroma and flavor profile as evaluated by the magazine's expert judges. Earning 96 points speaks volumes about Villon's impeccable quality, balance, and complexity. A 96-point rating from the Tasting Panel magazine is an incredible achievement that was used to heavily leverage the marketing for this new brand.


Packaging

Villon Limited Edition Gift Tube

I was tasked with designing a premium holiday gift box. I conceptualized a box debossed with a snake skin pattern inspired by the iconic dagger-wielding snake in our logo. Meticulous attention was paid to translating Villon's premium aesthetic into tangible details. The rich black color palette conveys elegance, while the debossed scales add depth and interest through subtle lighting effects.


Collaborations

I developed custom digital and print collateral for various artist collaborations and partnerships. For each campaign, I worked closely with the artists and internal teams to design cohesive visual assets centered around the collaboration theme. My responsibilities included designing social media graphics and banners to promote the partnerships online, print ads for media publications, and other promotional items that featured both.

Print Assets

I conceptualized and produced diverse print collateral that strengthened our brand image. Working closely with marketing, I designed brochures, posters, mailings, signage, and more that implemented cohesive visual branding.

I sharpened my technical abilities to adapt designs for various print specifications. Throughout the process, I incorporated feedback to balance brand consistency and print needs, ensuring our collateral made a bold, professional brand impression. My print design expertise was crucial for presenting a polished, cohesive brand identity.


Worked closely with our merchandising team to conceptualize, design, and produce branded merchandise for our company.

Together, we brainstormed creative ideas for merchandise that would effectively promote our brand identity and resonate with our target audiences. I provided visual inspirations and mockups to bring their ideas to life, while incorporating feedback to ensure the final designs were on-strategy.

Some of the branded merchandise I designed included t-shirts, hats, bags and more. The merchandising team provided excellent direction on material selection, vendors, and production feasibility. I handled the branding and graphic design aspects - developing logos, slogans, and layouts that optimized each product's real estate while elevating the brand.
